PROPOSED RT. 7 TRUCK CLIMBING LANE
Preliminary engineering is proceeding on the conceptual design that was presented at the community meeting last August. To address some of the concerns raised by residents, VDOT is considering and/or implementing the following modifications to the conceptual design:
*Maintaining the median breaks at Leeland Orchard Rd / Roxbury Hall Rd and at White Gate Dr / Farm Market Dr for emergency use only.
*Lengthening the deceleration lane at Roxbury Hall Rd and adding an acceleration lane.
*Measures to facilitate egress from Beacon Hill Dr onto Rte 9.
*Shifting the intersection of the frontage road with Alysheba Dr to the west to reduce impacts to the affected property.

The next steps include developing the concepual design in greater detail and preparing the environmental (NEPA) document. When they are finished, VDOT will return to the community by holding a Design Public Hearing that will be open to everybody. The Public Hearing is expected in late 2011 or early 2012.
